PLOW is an elevated "Fine Farm to Table" restaurant located not in Chicago, not in Milwaukee, not in Madison, but on the outskirts in the charming village of Cambridge, 16 miles southeast of Madison and 10 minutes from Ft. Atkinson. Cambridge has a population of 1650 residents but also has the draw of Lake Ripley, CamRock trails, Rowe Pottery, Dancing Goat Distillery, Cambridge winery, Cambridge Inn and a host of dedicated small businesses. Plow Restaurant is in a former Grist Mill from the mid 1800s and in the heart of the village's downtown district. People often come to Cambridge and enjoy The PLOW as a destination from as far away as Rockford, Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison drive to Cambridge for dinner.
With recent renovations, Plow is doing a soft re-opening as we built "Team Plow". Plow has expanded the footprint of the back-of-house prep area, added a cigar and Bourbon patio to handle events and catering and intends to expand hours. The ideal candidate would be ready to see this opportunity as part-time and become full-time by summer. We are looking for line cooks, a pizza and salad maker, and ultimately the future head Chef to grow Plow.
PLOW features a full bar with craft cocktails, and indoor and patio seating as well.
The food is incredible: simple dishes with quality farm freshness. Much is seasonally and locally sourced from our own farm in Madison, with a focus on natural, seasonal and excellence. Plow is a unique environment to be a rural version of a test kitchen. Menu items range from seasonal to staples: pastas, salads, prime rib, New York Strip, fish fry. Wood-fired items include vegetarian lasagna, baked potatoes, Neapolitan pizzas, hickory-smoked prime rib, and meats all smoked in our CookShack FEC500 outdoor smoker, culminating in a unique smoky experience.
